It’s Groundhog Day! And I was able to find this It’s Groundhog Day!

And I was able to find this gem from 2018 when visiting my hometown: Punxsutawney, PA

In the summer. 

With sunshine and less people 🙃 

In the movie Groundhog Day, when every day is the February 2nd, today reminds me of the daily grind as an parent. 

Wake up. 
Pack lunches. 
Race to the bus stop. 
Work. 
Race to the bus stop. 
Dinner. 
Baths. 
Bedtime. Kids and mom! 
xRepeat

Sure, we still have our goals and dreams. But we find it so hard to find the time actually make any progress towards them.

How often do you find yourself in conversation about the weather?? 🌤️⛈️🌨️🌬️

I find this interesting. Why you may ask? 

We can’t control the weather (climate… another story)  any more than we can change our genes. 

But we often spend a decent amount of time talking about it and fretting over the weather. That which we have no control over!!! 

I’m not immune to this. I am always looking at my weather app. Plan my runs around the weather, curious for road safety, school closings, pool days, etc… 

But, while this dusting has filled my snow cup for the season, it made me want to remind you:

To control the controllables. 

And if I were to relate this back to your running/training, I want you do know that, having a plan to follow should meet these 3 F words 🙃

✅feasible - if you can’t do it, it won’t work
✅flexible - you know, for times when you’re home with your sick kiddo
✅fun - who wants to dread their running and  training?!?

So, while you track weather for a variety of reasons… how well are you at being consistent in your training?

I was scrolling the book of faces the other day and a post in a running group where someone said just that!!! Yikes!!
